Top 10 Diets
If you've been on the internet for more than five minutes
you'll know that there are always 10 top weight loss diets
somewhere on the internet, listed as a definitive resource.
The real question is, do they work?
Well, almost any diet will work initially. The more
important question is whether you can sustain them for
long enough to achieve your weight loss goals
and then keep the weight off.
Every year the top 10 diets change,
according to what's popular at the time. Diets get in the top
10 by the number of people who are interested in them at the
time. What's really interesting is that generally that doesn't
mean they're effective and safe over the long term, it just
means they're popular.
Have you ever followed a top 10 diet
plan?
Think back: why?
Did a friend recommend it to you? Had they had tremendous
and sustained success with it? Did the front cover look good
and appealing? Or was it that the promise of easy weight loss
was just too much to pass up? Let's be really honest, easy
weight loss sounds awfully tempting, doesn't it? I mean, how
many diet books would sell with the title "The Really Hard
Weight Loss Diet"?
It's probably that most people who are reading this page
have tried more than one diet in the past. You already know
that they didn't really work for you, but you're looking for
something that will work - this time. What you should know is
that just because a diet is popular does not mean it
will work well for you.
Worst of all is that statistically you are very likely to
put back on more weight than you lose on the diet in the first
place. Something like 85% of dieters end up putting back on at
least as much as they lost.
When I checked with Google I found about 31,000,000
webpages that deal with diets in some way. How many do
you think you can try in one lifetime before finding one that
works for you?
There are many ways to deal with weight issues; ways that
offer you sustainable and permanent weight loss. But chances
are good that you probably won't find them in the top 10 diets
list.
Don't be fooled by miracle cures - that's all the top 10
diets are. Ultimately you have to find what works for you.
